Happy International Women’s Day

As we unite with women all over the world today to celebrate International Women’s Day, I think we should take time to reflect on how far women have come. Women are more empowered now than they were ages ago, we are more aware of so many societal norms such as body shaming, slut shaming and so many more of what the society calls normal these days. Most importantly, women are standing for their rights and what they believe in. As we celebrate International Women’s Day today, I implore you in the spirit of unity to keep fixing each other’s crown. “When women support each other, amazing things happen”! As women life requires us to deliver, perform, and make difficult decisions time and time again. These situations seem to arise the most when we are most vulnerable and seemingly at our weakest. These are times when we need to constantly empower each other as women. Let’s be there for one another through good and bad times, let us raise our girl child that way too. In this day and age when so much is used to divide us, speaking another’s language is an act of compassion, humanity and in many ways peace. As a mum of 2, I couldn’t be more proud to be a woman. Not just a woman, but one who will leave a footprint for her girls which will transcend from generations to generations.
