Paris fashion week is all done and dusted now, and like other fashion weeks it was very grand as usual.  Unfortunately, I have been too busy with work to be able to attend any other fashion week outside of London fashion week.  I saw some amazing collection from the Chanel show and thought I should share for you all to see in case you’re up for the splurge. Over the years, Chanel has transformed Paris’s Grand Palais into almost everything from a supermarket, to a data center, to an iceberg, and anything else fabulous. Karl Lagerfield has an intense yet superb way of representing the brand and he hits things right in the nose. He wants you to get the subtext when he gives you a handbag wrapped up like a butchered meat in the grocery store. Chanel’s fashion shows are never boring, never! I also love the time and creative direction which is invested in Chanel's fashion show. For Chanel Spring 2018, the brand recreated the cliffs and waterfalls of the Gorges du Verdon as the backdrop for the collection, which included both plenty of shades of blue and lots of nods to the elements encountered by hikers, if not actual outdoor clothes themselves. That means lots of patent leather and clear vinyl, the latter coming in the form of big, beachy totes, bucket bags and clutches, as well as not-exactly-hiking boots. Most of the bags that weren't crystal clear were at least a couple shades of blue, giving the collection a serenely water colored mood that felt both pretty and wearable. Check out all of the runway bags below.
